Solar Decathlon Europe 2010

This summer Springer-Peterson teamed up with The University of Florida, M.E. Rinker Sr. School of Building Construction as the roof sponsor for The Solar Decathlon Europe 2010 in Madrid.  Springer-Peterson Roofing and Sheet Metal Inc. donated material and installation training for the Sarnafil PVC roof system used on the on the project RE:FOCUS.

                      

This was the first global competition of its kind; Solar Decathlon Europe 2010 united 17 universities around the world with a common goal: to build a self-sufficient solar home with viability in today’s market. By competing in 10 categories ranging from solar energy systems to communications, students were challenged to push the limits of conventional design and address contemporary energy issues with inventive solutions.

The UF team’s house received the most online votes to win the Public Choice Award, Web. The UF team also placed second in the Energy Balance category.  For more information visit:

As we begin our 30th year of business, we have decided to update our look and redeign our website.  The website looks awesome with all thanks going to Amy and her team at NICE Branding Design! The new website will allow you to log in to your account to create work orders, view photos and track your invoices. You can now pay your invoices online, report a leak, request an estimate or reserve the Springer crane.
