Rob Springer Featured in Orange and Blueprints Magazine

Rob graduated from the Rinker School of Building Construction in the fall of 1984. While at Rinker, Rob served as the "first" President of the student chapter of ABC. After graduation, Rob joined Hubbard Construction of Orlando, and served as a project manager on several projects including Lake Nona Golf and Country Club Community, and the Melbourne Airport expansion. In 1985, he joined Springer - Peterson Roofing, replacing one of the original partners, Brooke Peterson, and served as Vice President of Operations until 2006, when he became President, and continues to serve in that role.

Springer-Peterson Roofing specializes in Industrial and Commercial reroofing, and when a challenging new Construction project warrants their expertise, they also participate in that market. Recent new construction projects include: Legoland Theme Park in Winter Haven, the new Antarctica Penguin exhibit at Seaworld in Orlando, and 2 recent expansions by Coca Cola at their Tampa and Auburndale locations. Re-roofing however has always been, and continues to be their specialty. Client relationships are always the nucleus of most projects, which include Publix Supermarkets, CVS, numerous Central Florida School Districts, and Hospital / Medical Facilities throughout Florida. Rob’s role at Springer-Petersen includes business development, current and new client support and providing support to the operations side of the company.

Rob is involved in the community and has served on the local boards of the YMCA, several local banks, as well as numerous non-profit organizations. His industry involvement includes serving on the board of National Roofing Partners (NRP) and will be installed as President of the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal (FRSA) Contractors Association in July of 2013.

Like most UF Graduates, Rob is an avid Gator fan, and has attended every National Championship football game, along with all of the Final Four Appearances, and four College World Series in which the Gator Baseball team participated in Omaha. Rob and his wife Tammy, live in Mulberry, and have 2 children. Their daughter is a teacher in Lakeland, and their son is currently a Senior 1 at Rinker. Rob loves to spend time in the outdoors, including hunting big game across North America, and fly fishing the rivers of the Western U.S.

That's Just Cantastic

So, you thought we only worked on roofs? Little did you know we can build an pretty awesome structure from canned goods as well. 

Springer-Peterson and the Tri-County Roofing Contractors Association joined forces to create this fantastic "Cantastic" Sculpture that earned them 2nd Place in the Cantastic Foodpendous Competition at the 90th Annual FRSA Convention at the Orange County Convention center in Orlando last month.

The sculpture was created using canned goods that double as a donation after the competition. Springer-Peterson donated a $500 Publix Gift Card to purchase the can goods that made up the sculpture pictured below! 

 

SP Gives Back

Rob and Tammy Springer hosted a dinner at their home in honor of the The U.S. Naval Academy Baseball Team. The event took place in March and was courtesy of Fran Gren & The Friends of Navy Baseball. The team was in town for the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in Winter Haven. Many community leaders and previous Naval graduates were all in attendance. The team captain presented the game flag that flies over their stadium to Rob and Tammy Springer.

Florida's Natural 2012 Charity Classic

Futures Golf Tour Inc. - Florida's Natural Charity Classic

The Florida’s Natural Charity Classic is an official event on the LPGA Futures Tour, the “Road to the LPGA.” The 54-hole golf tournament brings 144 of the best women golfers in the world to The Lake Region Golf & Country Club of Winter Haven. This is the fourth season the LPGA Futures Tour has played in Winter Haven and the 12th season overall that the Tour has visited Polk County. Proceeds from the event are given to the Florida’s Natural Growers Foundation, which in turn distributes grants amongst 20 + charities in Polk County. The tournament has generated more than $250,000 for Polk County charities through the Florida’s Natural Growers Foundation in the past three years.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: SP is working with Crossroads Construction for Hillsborough Community College to complete the interesting reroof project while the campus is active with students. The Manville system is a unique energy efficient roof system using Durofoam 180 with Tricor solar cap.

Project Spotlight: Coca Cola Chilled Warehouse Expansion Project

Project Title: Coca Cola Chilled Warehouse Expansion

Location: Auburndale, Florida

Size: 880 SF Roof

Materials Used: GAF 60 Mil TPO

Springer-Peterson is working in conjunction with R.C. Stevens Construction to expand the Coca-Cola Chilled Warehouse in Aunurdale, Florida to increase their production capacity. This project is part of an overall expansion plan for a $99 million expansion at the plant that will bring 60 new jobs to the area. Springer-Peterson is proud to be a service provider to Coca-Cola on this project in Auburndale and other projects in the area.

Springer-Peterson Takes Eleven Veterans Hunting

Rob Springer was a sponsor at a state event in which wounded soldiers were guided through a hunt in the Withlacoochee State Forest. Here is the awesome letter we got from Commissioner Adam Putnam: 

Dear Mr. Springer, 
I am sending you this letter in appreciation for your sponsorship of the Operation Outdoor Freedom event that occurred on the Withlacoochee State Forest on the weekend of November 18th thru the 20th. With your support eleven veterans wounded in combat were treated to a guided deer hunt. The event by all accounts went off without a hitch with eight of the hunters being able to harvest a deer. In all nine deer, six bucks and three does were harvested. Some of the hunters partaking in this event were first time hunters.

Please accept these photos of the hunters, guides and various support staff that helped make this weekend a success for our veterans. Without your support of this event none of this could have happened. Thanks again for being a part of this program.

At SP we like to our technicians to stay on top of all the new products that the roofing industry has to offer. This week all of the SP foreman team completed their monthly training. This month was with Firestone.
